**Margarita "Margie" Caldone**
May 27, 1946 – March 19, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Margarita "Margie" Caldone, who departed this world on March 19, 2026, in
Chesapeake, Virginia, at the age of 79. Born on May 27, 1946, in
Brooklyn, New York, Margie lived a life marked by love, compassion and dedication, forever touching the lives of all who knew her.
Margie began her career as a special education teacher assistant in Chesapeake Public Schools then later continued her work in Florida Schools. Her unwavering commitment to education and children with special needs along with her nurturing spirit left an indelible mark on countless students, colleagues, and parents alike. Through her guidance and passion for teaching, she inspired many, leaving a legacy that will endure through the generations she helped shape.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George and Gloria Maria Normandia, and her husband, Joseph Caldone. Margie's memory will continue to be lovingly cherished by her surviving family: her son, George Lueke of North Carolina; two daughters, Sylvia Fitzgerald and Natalie Drgos of Florida; eight grandchildren; and her sisters, Gloria Rodriguez and husband William, and Dr. Cynthia Normandia; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles who cherished her warmth and love for life.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in Florida at a later date to honor Margie's remarkable journey and the everlasting impact she had on those around her.

Though she is no longer with us in body, Margie's spirit and the lessons she imparted will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know and love her. May her soul rest in peace.
