Lilley Christine Snider

Lilley Christine Snider, affectionately known as Chris, passed away peacefully at 72, in her Virginia Beach home on March 3, 2026.

Born December 21, 1953, in Salisbury, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Samuel B. Snider, Sr. and Vera Hollowell Snider. Chris devoted much of her life to caring for her parents and was known for her gentle spirit, steady kindness, and deep devotion to her family.

She worked as a customer service representative with Atlantic Container Line for more than 35 years, where she built many meaningful friendships and shared countless memories with her coworkers.

Horses were Chris' lifelong passion. A talented artist, she loved drawing horses in pencil and charcoal. She rode and practiced dressage and spent many cherished hours at the barn, where she formed lasting friendships. She especially enjoyed attending horse shows and polo matches and being part of the equestrian community she loved so much.

In addition to her parents, Chris was preceded in death by her brother, Samuel B. Snider, Jr.

She is survived by her nieces, Amy Clements and her husband Brian, and Karen Williams and her husband Timothy; her nephews, Samuel Snider III and his wife Sarah, and Robert Shawn Snider; her sister-in-law, Diana Snider; and four great-nieces and six great-nephews who will lovingly carry forward her memory.

Chris will be remembered for her kindness, her love of horses, and the quiet, caring way she touched the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Chris will be laid to rest with her parents at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens 3920 Airline Blvd Chesapeake, Virginia 23321 on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 11:00am. A family and friends graveside service will be held.
