James Grider Obituary
There to welcome him home to Heaven was his wife, Rebecca Hall Grider; his parents, William B. and Dewell Grider; two brothers, William T. Grider of Vero Beach, FL, and Donald R. Grider of Louisville; a sister-in-law, Jean Bennett Grider of Vero Beach; and a brother-in-law, Richard L. Fountain of Vero Beach.
He is survived by a son, David Michael Grider; a daughter, Lisa P. Dunsmore (Kevin) of Louisville; and a sister, Carolyn Fountain of Vero Beach. Also surviving are six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews.
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church of Shepherdsville. His favorite Bible verse was John 3:16, because he wanted everyone to know he was going to Heaven and they could go there too, if they believed in Jesus.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Immanuel Baptist Church of Shepherdsville, the WHAS Crusade for Children, or Samaritan's Purse in memory of Sam.
Visitation will be at Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 Buckman Street, in Shepherdsville on Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. with the funeral at 2 p.m., on Thursday, January 20, 2022, with burial to follow at Pennsylvania Run Cemetery in Louisville.
