Corey Moodie Obituary
BRADFORD - Corey Robert Moodie, 33, of Bradford passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012, at 6:35 p.m. at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.
He was born Dec. 5, 1978, in Peoria, Ill., to Chip and Jody (Jones). He graduated from Bradford High School in 1997 and received his Master's degree in computer science. He married Wendy Sue Schupp on April 6, 2002, in Buda.
He was employed at Pearl Tech in Peoria Heights.
He was a member of the Bradford Village Board of Trustees, played bass for the band Short Live Fun and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Corey is survived by his wife, Wendy of Bradford. Also surviving are his son, Lane Moodie and daughter, Haylie Moodie, both of Bradford; his parents, Chip and Jody Moodie of Bradford; two brothers, Aaron (Tiffany Terry) Moodie of Lacon, Ill., Matthew (Jennifer Robbins) Moodie of Medford, Wis.; grandmothers, Betty "Nonee" Moodie of Bradford and LuCinda Jones of Burlington, N.C.; five nieces and nephews, Weston Schupp, Tayler Gage, Wyatt Schupp, Whitney Schupp and Bridget Moodie; and baby Moodie on the way.
He was preceded in death by grandfathers, Robert Moodie and William Jones.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at the Bunker Hill Church of God in Buda, with the Rev. Stephen Myong officiating. Burial will be in Bradford Cemetery in Bradford. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at the church. Pallbearers will be Aaron Moodie, Matthew Moodie, Brock Colgan, Dustin Efnor, Weston Schupp, Jan Gage and Jimmy Schupp. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Ferman, Tayler Gage, Dave Davis, Mark Koehler, Brain Hoover and Steve Witte.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Education Fund for the Children of Corey R. Moodie.
Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford is in charge of the arrangements.
