Darryl Monge Obituary
Roanoke - Darryl Lee Monge, 73, of Stafford, Va., formerly of Roanoke, Ill., passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
He was born Dec. 29, 1938, in Peoria, Ill., to Battista and Iris (Heppard) Monge.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Monge was a comptroller with the Komatsu Corporation, where he had worked for 39 years.
Darryl was also a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Verla (Bienemann) Monge of Stafford, Va.; a daughter, Lori Ann Monge and friend Kelly Moore of Woodbridge, Va.; and a son, Robert Darryl Monge of Stafford.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m., with a 7:30 p.m. rosary, at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Stafford Chapel, 186 Shelton Shop Road, Stafford, Va. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Roanoke, Ill. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow Mass in Roanoke Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor in Richmond, Va., or PARC (Peoria Association for Retarded Citizens), Peoria, Ill.
