Earl Roth Obituary

FAIRBURY - Earl D. Roth, 90, of Scottsdale, Ariz., a native of Fairbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, in Scottsdale.

He was born Nov. 12, 1920, in Forrest, Ill., to Daniel and Carrie Roth. He married Lorene Lydia Maurer on Sept. 15, 1946, in Fairbury, Ill. She passed away May 27, 1989. On Oct. 27, 1991, Earl married Marilyn Rose Weyeneth in Roanoke, Ill. She survives.

Earl will forever be remembered by his beloved children, Steven of Scottsdale, Ariz., Daniel of Mesa, Ariz., Shirley Gillespie of Phoenix, Ariz., Sherry of Scottsdale, Ariz., Charlene Sanders of Vail, Ariz., and Todd of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sister, Leona Leman of Fairbury, Ill.; two brothers, Marvin of LaSalle, Ill., and Leonard of Forrest, Ill.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

A U.S. Army veteran, he served our country during World War II in India. He owned Maurer and Roth in Fairbury, Ill., before moving to Tempe, Ariz., in August of 1974.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Hansen Desert Hills Chapel, 6500 E. Bell Road, Scottsdale. Further visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2011, followed by funeral services at 12:30 p.m. at Phoenix Apostolic Christian Church, 9230 N. 26th St., Phoenix, where he was a member. Church ministers will officiate. Burial will follow in East Resthaven Park Cemetery, Phoenix.
