Greg Ekena Obituary
ELMWOOD - Gregory "Greg" A. Ekena, 60, of Elmwood passed away at 11:06 p.m. on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Greg was born on January 7, 1957, in Peoria to Don and June (Sollenberger) Ekena.
He is survived by his mother of Elmwood; one sister, Coleen (Dennis) Nieders of Maquon; and one brother, Scott (Jessica) Ekena of Elmwood.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Greg was a semi-truck driver for Air-Land for over 20 years and volunteered on the Elmwood Fire Department for over 15 years.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood, with a two hour visitation prior, from 9 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial of ashes will immediately follow the service at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elmwood Fire Department.
