Jeffrey Nelson Obituary
Pekin - Jeffrey M. Nelson, 56, of 5 Oak Ave. passed away at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at his home.
He was born Aug. 19, 1952, in Peoria to Lawrence and Mary Francis (Vaught) Nelson.
Surviving are his mother of Pekin; one daughter, Nicole Nelson of Pekin; one grandson, Noah Palm of Pekin; his life partner of 27 years, Patricia Pfeiffer of Pekin; one stepdaughter, Karen (Matt) Nash of Pekin; and four grandsons, Zach Cherry of Las Vegas, Drew Cherry, Gabe Cherry and Gage Nash, all of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Jeff was a truck driver for 27 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of Teamsters and Chauffeurs Union Local 627 in Peoria and Ducks Unlimited.
Jeff was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying deer hunting, fishing with his Dad and duck and goose hunting with his friends. He also loved telling stories.
He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church.
Jeff's funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin chapel. The Rev. Joel Newton will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.

I have fond memories of Jeff, as my brother, Mike, Jeff and I played in the woods by Jeff's house. We were neighbors when we were chidlren. All of the Calhoun's are sorry for your loss. He has been in our prayers since we heard of his health.
