John Aeschleman Obituary

ROANOKE - John A. Aeschleman, 48, of Roanoke, Ill., passed away at 12:17 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Jan. 19, 1963, in Peoria, Ill., to Harley and Mary Lou Burns Aeschleman. He married Mary Arrowood on Sept. 22, 2006, in Roanoke. She survives.

Also surviving are his father, Harley (Marlene) Aeschleman, one brother, Tom (Sherri) Aeschleman, and two sisters, Cheryl (Dennis) Wagner and Karen (Steve) Hawkins, all of Roanoke; four stepsons, Loren, Wes, Kevin and Phil Mogler; one stepdaughter, Kristen Mogler; one grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother and an infant brother, David.

John was a dedicated dietary assistant at the Eureka Apostolic Christian Nursing Home, where he had worked for 13 years.

He was a charter member of the Roanoke Sons of American Legion. John loved to fish and was an avid Cardinals fan.

John was always a very generous person. He not only was giving in life but even at death by donating and giving away any parts of himself that could be utilized to help others.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Roanoke United Methodist Church. The Rev. Ken Sloan-Couch will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Knapp-Johnson-Harris Funeral Home in Roanoke and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Roanoke Township Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the OSF Neuro ICU for their compassionate care through this difficult time.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with medical and burial expenses.
