PEORIA - Kurt Frank Rauen, age 82, of Peoria passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012.
Kurt was born on Dec. 13, 1929, in Peoria to Frank and Elsa (Ehret) Rauen. He married Althea Montooth on Nov. 3, 1950, in Peoria.
Kurt is survived by his wife, Althea; his children, Nancy (David) Wirth of Springfield, Paula (Marvin) Parr of Pekin and Jeffrey (Georgia) Rauen of Peoria; his grandchildren, Christy (Anthony) Kabanek, Kyle and Karin Wirth, Brett and Ashley Parr, Kurt, Elisabeth and Jessica Rauen; and his great-grandchildren, George and Kyleigh.
Kurt retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 36 1/2 years, and he served in the United States Navy Reserve.
He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Peoria; he enjoyed fishing and was a Bradley Braves and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at United Presbyterian Church in Peoria, 2400 W. Northmoor Road, Peoria, IL 61614. The Rev. Dr. Randall Saxon will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at church. Burial will be held in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
Memorials may be made to United Presbyterian Church or United Presbyterian Discovery Preschool.
