Nancy Wenzel Obituary

PEORIA - Nancy Louise (Armstrong) Wenzel, age 62, of Bay City, Mich., formerly of Peoria, died Monday, July 19, 2010.

Nancy was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on June 18, 1948, to the late Robert and Betty Scribner Armstrong and was the middle of three daughters.

While living in Peoria, she was a longtime member of the Entre Nous Club.

Nancy was a devoted wife, mother and sister.

She was a strong supporter of America and its Armed Forces, and a voracious reader and lifelong student of history.

Mrs. Wenzel is survived by her husband, Al; and their children, Tony Wenzel and his wife Kelly, Andrew Wenzel and Austin Wenzel. Nancy is also survived by her three beloved grandchildren, Andrew Bryan Wenzel, Audra Wenzel and Rigby Wenzel; and her two sisters, Jeanne Armstrong and Robin Armstrong Carp.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Sept. 16, 2010, at the Chapel of St. Cornelius at Valley Forge Military Academy, 1001 Eagle Road in Wayne, Pa.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Nancy Wenzel Award for Athletic Achievement at Valley Forge Military Academy.
