He was one of my few friends I had when I went to that school. I sometimes still cry thinking about the day of his passing. I am now in 10th grade and I still remember my great friends story. It took a long time to realize that I couldn't do anything to help him so I had just cried when I was told he wasn't going to make it. It took my dad 3 hours to calm me down... I hope he is doing something good with everyone up there. I just wanted to say I miss him and hope you all know you had a fantastic time with him.

I remember when I was in 4th grade (I'm now im 7th grade attending CJHS), attending Paul L. Bolin elementary school of East Peoria. I remember how long we had been fighting for Nathan and how supportive we wanted to be. It was amazing, seeing everyone come together and raise money for him, helping him through his illness. I never met Nathan personally, but I know enough to know that he was kind, and well-spirited. I know he had lots of friends that loved him and understood the fact that he was a superhero. Superheros lift the community and they save their city. Nathan wanted to help too. He knew what others had gone through, and he wanted to help. He raised money too, and he gave his support and loving open arms to other kids with cancer. That is what made him a superhero, and still in fact makes him a superhero. I remember hearing that Nathan was sick, and might not make it. I remember the dread I felt when I heard. I remember the school's silence in the normally loud lunchroom when our principal (Mr. Lowery), got on the stage and asked for our attention. I remember eating my salad, and talking with my friends on the second table on the right side of the gym, closest to the stage. I remember when I dropped my plastic fork. I remember the confused looks and tears in my peers eyes. I remember. Not long after, we hear that the baseball diamond at Armstrong had been named the Nathan Pennington Field. I remember. I remember the joy that had filled the school in a whole new way. I remember. I remember knowing, that Nathan was alive, in a way, more than he ever was before. We miss, and love you Nathan.

Our small group in Shelby Twp, MI, has been praying for Nathan and his family for many months. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing but it's a comfort to know he has his full healing and is in Jesus' arms.

Hi Julie, Corey, Olivia and Family,
Today during Nathan's church service
I have learned that sweet Nathan had
a love for Jesus since early childhood.
I know part of that he learned from you his parents. For Nathan to show so much love for Jesus and the enjoyment he shows though songs and his most loved verse, Jeremiah 29:11 I can see that Nathan was blessed.
He was also blessed to have a Family like yours who loves God and gave him the best care possible.
I know he is in Jesus welcomed arms and with family who waited for him. He is healed and enjoys the blessing of heaven.

Our love,
