LACON - Patricia D. Sloma, 74, of Lacon died at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at her residence.
Born Jan. 11, 1940, to the late Stan and Mary Baker Stone in Rock Island, Ill., she later married John Sloma on Dec. 12, 1984.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, John; her sons, Rick Yates of Clinton, Iowa, and Bill Yates of Oshkosh, Wis.; and her daughter, Diane Rhodes of Peoria. Pat is also survived by six grandchildren.
Pat loved her family and had a passion for antiques. After 18 years at Caterpillar Inc., she retired and opened Columbia Antiques in Lacon in 2003 to share that passion with others.
Pat was a truly warm and delightful woman, always first to share her warm smile and kind words. She will be missed as our mother, wife, sister and friend.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a visitation will be held at Lenz Memorial in Lacon on Thursday evening, Oct. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at a later date, with burial to be in the Riverside Cemetery in Moline, Ill., with her parents.
Memorials can be made to the Community Workshop & Training Center.
