CANTON - Paulina M. "Polly" Saurbaugh, 72, of 1400 N. Main St. died at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Graham Hospital in Canton.
She was born May 13, 1936, in Canton to Clarence and Ferne (Casley) Saurbaugh.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Raymond "Gus" Saurbaugh.
Surviving are five sisters, Patricia (Richard) Danner, Anne (Paul) Vaughn, Gloria (Harold) Pschirrer, Betty (Bruce) Scarcliff and Sandra (Ray) Daley. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, whom she dearly loved.
She was a 1954 graduate of Canton High School.
Polly retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1990. She was the co-owner of the Shu Tree in Canton from 1986 to 2005.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Canton. She was also a member of the Chapter LY P.E.O. Sisterhood, and a member of the Canton Country Club. She was a former member of the Canton Ambassador Club.
Polly loved to play golf and was an avid reader and bridge player.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, with the Rev. Bob Reter officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
Memorials may be made to the P.E.O. Chapter LY Sisterhood Scholarship Fund or to the First Christian Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.

To the family & friends of Polly - it has been awhile since I have seen her, but I use to work w/her at Cat Inc in the Planning Dept. I want to tell all 'I am so Sorry' and offer my sympathy. She was a wonderful person!

I worked with Polly at Caterpillar for many years. We still kept in touch after we retired. I shall miss her and her funny emails. I'm sorry I can't come to Illinois. The world won't be the same without her.
