GERMANTOWN HILLS - Robert J. "Rob" Facker, 37, of Germantown Hills, IL passed away and was ushered into Heaven to stand by his Lord on Sunday, August 12, 2018. He was greeted in Heaven by his father. He was born on March 29, 1981, the son of David and Kathy (Hurd) Facker. Rob married Kassidy Wileman in Metamora, IL, and together they were blessed to share in 12 years of marriage.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kassidy; his son, Cooper; and daughter, Aubrey, both at home. Also surviving is his mother, Kathy, two sisters, Angela (Doug) Fandel of Germantown Hills and Jessica (Alex) Etheridge of Champaign, IL, and many cherished nephews and a niece.
He graduated from Metamora High School in 1999 and earned a bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 2003. He worked as an Aviation Safety and Compliance Officer for Caterpillar Aviation. Rob had many interests and passions. He loved everything baseball, playing with his children, and Monday night softball. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, the Saluki Dogs, and all Metamora sports.
He loved supporting and encouraging his children by coaching Coopers' MATBO baseball team and watching Aubrey dance in recitals. He was the current Committee Chairman and also served as a Den Leader for the Germantown Hills Cub Scout Pack for the past three years. He was also the current Vice President of the Italian American Society of Peoria and had served as president in past years. He also attended and served as an usher at Great Oaks Community Church. Anyone who knew him has been blessed by his witty humor, his compassion for others, his infectious smile and his love for our Lord. He was a beloved son, a devoted husband, an adored father, a compassionate coach, and an irreplaceable friend.
Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Mason Funeral Home Germantown Hills Chapel. Facker family,
There are no words for this loss. Rob was a great friend who will be greatly missed. From attending school dances together, to spending time at my brothers place at Purdue, to trivia nights, to meeting up to catch up when I was home, Rob had always been there. He was always smiling and his personality brought light to so many. Please know he will be remembered and Im praying for you all during this difficult time.

There are literally no words to adequately express my profound sadness at Rob's passing. I had the privilege and honor of watching Rob grow from a Cub Scout, to Boy Scout to Eagle Scout and ultimately, into the rock solid and honorable man he became. I further had the opportunity to work with Rob at Caterpillar, where his knowledge, skill and abilities in the aviation industry were aptly demonstrated time and again. Rob's perpetual smile, cheerful greeting and quick wit were his hallmarks and I always looked forward to seeing him when visiting the Aviation Division hanger. But his principle hallmark was his love of family; his wife and children, his mother, father and sisters, his community and God Loving son and brother, devoted husband and father, these were Rob's greatest attributes. That he volunteered to worthy endeavors, giving of his time and talents, is not surprising, as this was a Facker family tradition. There is no doubt that Rob will be greatly missed by so very many, myself among them, but how fortunate were we to have known him, to call him friend? May God's love and grace sustain the entire Facker family at this most difficult time. All of you remain in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry to hear of Rob's passing. I had him in my class at MTHS and he was such a great young man, one of those kids who made others around him so much better. I'm sure he continued those traits into adulthood. The world is a better place because of Rob. God bless all the Facker family and may Rob rest in peace.
