HENRY - Ruby Grace Bare, 89, of Henry, formerly of Lostant, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018, at 4:15 a.m. at Heartland Health Care Center in Henry.
Visitation will be Friday, March 9, 2018, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Henry United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the church, with an hour prior visitation. The Rev. Will Meachum will officiate. Burial will follow at Henry Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Henry United Methodist Church.
Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home in Henry is in charge of arrangements.
Ruby was born on January 22, 1929, in Magnolia, IL, to David L. and Nancy Corine (Kelley) Frye. She married William H. Bare on September 24, 1944, in Henry, IL. She shared the love of her life for 69 years. William preceded her in death on December 22, 2013.
Surviving are her children, William E. (Cindy) Bare of Canton, GA, Donna (Tom) Spurlin of Poplar Grove, IL, and Randall C. Bare of Ottawa; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Her parents; two brothers, Paul Edward and Donald Lee Frye; one infant brother; one sister, Edythe Fern Calvert; and one infant sister preceded her in death.
Ruby was happy to be a young Navy wife in World War II and was proud to be a farmer's wife and homemaker. She enjoyed music, reading and listening to books on tape, sewing and baking.
Ruby was a participant in many roles in the Henry United Methodist Church, such as singing in the choir. She was a member of a garden club. The most important thing to her was her family. She cherished every family member and helped however she could.
