PEORIA - Sandra S. Rose, age 63, of Peoria passed away at 7:15 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at Fondulac Rehabilitation Center in East Peoria.
She was born on July 4, 1942, in Tulsa, Okla. She married Bobby J. Rose on May 3, 1968, in Chicago, Ill. He survives.
Sandra is also survived by a son, Robert (Melody) Rose of St. Joseph, Mich.; one granddaughter, Sommer Rose of Peoria; one sister, Sue Ann (Jim) Oddo of Prospect Heights, Ill.; one brother, Gary Haller of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three aunts.
Sandra was a homemaker most of her life. She was actively involved in the Disabled American Veterans, was past commander of DAV Unit #42 in Chicago, volunteered at Hines Veterans Hospital in Chicago, was past commander of DAV Auxiliary #1 in Peoria and was sergeant at arms for Disabled American Veterans through the state of Illinois.
Cremation rites were accorded with burial of cremains in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the DAV Auxiliary Unit #1 in Peoria.
She was loved and will be missed by many.
