Vivian Quast Obituary

Vivian Quast
BELLEVUE - Vivian Ann Quast, 81, of Bellevue passed away peacefully at 8:22 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2017, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born February 18, 1935, in Edgewood Township, IL, the daughter of Theodore and Viva Sapp. She married Carl Quast Sr. on September 20, 1952, in Edgewood. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Carl (Diana), and Jerry, both of Bartonville; one daughter, Dorothy (Terry Johnson) Edwards of Bellevue; four grandchildren, Shannan (Nathan) Woerner, Daryn Edwards, Benjamen Quast and Hollie (Richard) Stoneburner; one great-grandson, Ethyn Edwards; and one sister, Laura (Louis) Engle of Farina, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Tex, Danny, Joseph and Theodore Sapp; one sister, Jackie Mesnard; and one son-in-law, Daryl Edwards.
Vivian loved the Lord Jesus Christ and served him by serving others though her many years of service at Bel-Wood Nursing Home and St. Joseph Home. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her family and telling stories about growing up on the farm.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Pastor Rebecca Gearhart will officiate. Cremation rites will be accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her church, White Chapel United Methodist Church, 27721 County Road 27, Glasford, IL 61533.

I remember the time we blew up balloons and put them in the soup kettle with the lid down. She opened it and jump high. She was a good sport with jokes. She hated spiders and yes I put some in the soup kettle and she screamed. But she always laughed about it. I loved that she was my favorite nite cook. I still think of her and when I get stressed I tell myself the little ditty she told me which cannot be repeated here.
Loved her.

My sympathy to all of Vivian's family. I knew Vivian when we were both at St. Joseph's Home. She was a great asset to our dietary department at the Home! May she now rest in peace.

O Vivian..I have so many good memories of our time at St. Joe's. Keep that spunky attitude in heaven so other souls will know how great you are. I will think of you often as I have for many years. God bless you and all your family

I am so sorry for your loss and that I will not be able to attend the services to offer my condolences and to say good bye to Vivian. Although God mad all creatures great and small I am sure there will be no spiders in heaven for her. Vivian was one of my favorite people to work with. Cindy Seitz
