Walter Bennett Obituary
DUNLAP — Walter E. Bennett, age 84, of Dunlap, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 9:50 p.m. at Unity Point Proctor in Peoria.
He was born Feb. 6, 1934 in Dunlap to Percy and Gertrude (Pauli) Bennett. He married Betty Jording on May 14, 1965 in Peoria. She survives along with one son, Matthew Bennett of Dunlap.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant children, and one step-son, Jeff Clayton.
Walter was a Custodian at Dunlap Junior High and also a School Bus Driver for Dunlap School District.
He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Peoria.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 16, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church in Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in Mt. Hawley Cemetery in Dunlap.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Methodist Home Care or Salem Lutheran Church Preschool program.

Dear Betty and Matt,
Please accept our sincerest sympathies on the passing of Walter. When I taught at Dunlap, Walt was always willing to help me and we had many good laughs together. I will truly miss his smile and friendship.
