Jody Kay Livergood, 62, of rural Wabash, Indiana, died at 6:55 pm, Friday, May 12, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born on Dec. 3, 1960, in Muncie, Indiana, to John E. and Virginia K. (Souder) Livergood.
Jody was a 1979 graduate of Southwood High School, received her bachelor's degree from Taylor University and her master's degree from Ball State University. She was a school teacher at Southwood and Metro North Elementary Schools where she taught Special Education, 2nd and 4th grade. Jody was a member of the Treaty Church of Christ and was the church bookkeeper. She also was a member of the Wabash Woman's Clubhouse Association. Jody enjoyed cooking and baking, working on the computer, and reading, especially children's books. She also enjoyed crafting, being outdoors mowing and gardening, playing euchre, praying and reading the Word, and was a true prayer warrior.
She is survived by her sister, Lynn Wells of Wabash; nephew and niece, Daniel (Sarah) Wells of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Abby (Chaz) Creiglow of Summerville, South Carolina; four great nieces and nephews, Amelia and Andrew Wells of Charlotte, and Everly and Charlie Creiglow of Summerville. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Treaty Church of Christ, 6780 S. 50 E., Wabash, with Ryan Weaver officiating. Family will receive friends 9:30-11:00 am Saturday May 27, 2023, at the church. There will be a family and friends fellowship immediately following the service at the church. Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash.
Preferred memorials are Treaty Church of Christ or IDES (International Disaster Emergency Service), PO Box 379, Noblesville, IN 46062.
