Floyd A. "Junior" Ott, 84, of Lower Mount Bethel Township, died Sunday, Oct. 10, at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. He was the husband of the late Ethel M. (Hess) Ott who died in 1996.
Born on July 14, 1920, in Upper Mount Bethel Township, he was the son of the late Floyd A. and Ada (Fisher) Ott Sr.
He was co-owner and operator, with his late son, Barry, of Ott's Farm in Lower Mount Bethel Township. In 1975, they were the winners of the Forage and Grass Award.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Stone Church and its adult Sunday school; and a member and former president of the Consistory. He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, Northampton and Monroe County Farm Bureau, Northampton County Soil Conservation, Holstein Association of Northampton County, and Northampton County Dairy Herd Improvement Association.
In addition, he was a former member of the Dairymen's League Co-op, Bangor Area School Board, and Blue Mountain Rod and Gun Club.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman and baseball fan.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon M. Shook and her husband, Nelson, of Johnsonville, and Elaine F. Mest and her husband, John, of Richmond; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Barry F. Ott; four brothers, Elton Ott, Delbert Ott, Earl Ott, and Ralph Ott; and one sister, Esther Ott.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 632 S. Delaware Drive, Mount Bethel. Burial will be in Reformed Cemetery, Upper Mount Bethel Township.
Calling hours will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Reed/Gaffney Funeral Home, 4 Lillian Lane, Village of Johnsonville, Bangor.
Memorial donations may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 632 S. Delaware Drive, Mount Bethel, PA 18343.
