Genevieve Grose Obituary

Genevieve "GG" Grose, 88, of East Stroudsburg, passed away Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, in Golden Living Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Martin Grose, who passed away Dec. 14, 1986.

Born on Feb. 2, 1922, at home in West Bristol, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mazie Watts.

Genevieve was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister to all. She will be greatly missed by all who have known her.

She is survived by six children, Benjamin Grose and his wife, Charlotte, of Marshalls Creek, Diane Lockard and her husband, Dale, of East Stroudsburg, Martin Grose and his fiancée, Sue Felker, of East Stroudsburg, Linda Grose-Jones and her husband, Craig Jones, of Henryville, Joseph Grose of Henryville and Russell Cappalello of East Stroudsburg.

She is survived by 12 grandchildren, Mathew Grose and his fiancée, Michelle Almedia, of Landing, N.J., Joshua Grose and his wife, Noelle, of Okemah, Okla., Anita Boswell and her husband, Joe, of East Stroudsburg, Bonnie Nordt and her husband, Tommy, of Marshalls Creek, Vincent McConnell and his fiancée, Gysella Kuboyama, of Stroudsburg, Dawn Lockard and her fiancé, John Schnatter, of Marshalls Creek, Lisa Greene and her husband, Jermaine, of East Stroudsburg, Jessica Grose of Henryville, Jeremy Grose and his companion, Amanda Musarra, of Bushkill, Sheena Grose of Stroudsburg, Roni Jones of Stroudsburg and Jimmy Vanhorn of Stroudsburg.

Additionally, she is survived by 20 great-grandchildren, Jayda Grose, Kaia Grose, and Brandon Almeida of Landing, Patricia Shook of Blacksburg, Va., Von Glover of East Stroudsburg, Zachary Nordt of Marshalls Creek, Jermaine Greene, Donovan Greene and Tea Greene of East Stroudsburg, Nathan Grose and Dale Grose of Henryville, Madisyn Grose and Haidyn Grose of Bushkill, Alicia Hurtado, Jakai Hurtado, Jayden Hurtado and baby Linny of Stroudsburg, Craig Jones, and Nyla Jones of Stroudsburg, and Brandton Graffin of East Stroudsburg.

Genevieve is also survived by two brothers, Edward Watts of Penndale, and Francis Watts of Philadelphia, and sister Dorothy Rhoades of Levittown. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Grose, her grandson Dale Lockard, and four brothers, Jack Watts, Donald Watts, Harry Watts and Sherman Watts.

Viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Lanterman and Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg. Services will follow starting at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Prospect Cemetery in East Stroudsburg.
