Glenn Langille Obituary

Glenn W. Langille, age 75, of Effort, passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown.

Glenn was the loving husband of Margaret Ann (Bown) Langille. They had been married 22 years.

Glenn was born in Truro, Nova Scotia, on Jan. 21, 1935, and was the son of the late Burton and Myrtle (Murphy) Langille.

He had worked in residential and commercial construction most of his life. He was a chef at the Chateau Frontenac in Canada.

He also worked as a general manager for the former Vacation Valley Resort in Marshalls Creek.

We have been blessed with the presence of Glenn in our lives, and he will be deeply missed by his loving wife Margaret Ann; his two sons, Robert Glenn Langille and his wife Blanca of Hemet, Calif., and Derrick Lee Langille and his fiancee Sandy Johnston of Yucaipa, Calif.; his stepchildren, Michael McCafferty of Effort; Robert McCafferty and his wife Deborah of Saylorsburg; Sheila Yochum and her fiancee Robert Dixon of Easton, and Brian McCafferty and his wife Stephanie of Rocky Mount, Va.; his brothers Burt, Gary and Herb, and sisters Laurel and Joan; 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Inc., Route 209, Gilbert, with the Rev. Robin Fisher officiating.

Friends are welcome to visit with the family on Wednesday, Sept. 1, from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home Inc., Star Rt. Box 59-A, Gilbert, PA 18331.

Dear Glenn & Derrick,
My deepest sympathy go out to both of you losing your dad. He certainly was a hard worker & very knowledgeable in all aspects of life. I always enjoyed being in your company & wish you all the best. God Bless you.
