Grace Y. Samson, 93, formerly of Wind Gap, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Gracedale. She was the widow of George D. Samson, who passed away in 1976.
Born on July 16, 1912, in Easton, she was the eldest child of the late John C. Sr. and Catherine Masler Yankus.
She graduated from Wilson Area High School in 1930 and was a 1934 graduate of Drexel University.
She was a member of The First United Methodist Church, in Wind Gap.
She taught school for 34 years and began her career at The Lake Consolidated School in Lake Ariel, and retired from Pen Argyl Area High School in 1977. After retiring from teaching, she enjoyed traveling to many foreign countries.
She was a life member of Harriet Green Chapter #198, Eastern Star, in Moscow.
Her favorite pastimes were devoted to reading, baking, playing cards, and especially bridge.
Surviving are a daughter, Marjorie Fredlund and her husband, Al, of Delta, Colo.; a son, Bruce and his fiancee, Darla, of Wind Gap; a daughter-in-law, Paulette Samson, of Tannersville; four grandchildren, Catherine and Scott Fredlund, of Delta, Colo., Christine Fredlund of Eclectic, Ala., and Jennifer Samson Acker of Bethlehem; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Darin Fredlund.
She was preceded in death by a son, George in 1967; and brothers, Frank and John.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, in the church west of Wind Gap. A private burial of her ashes will take place at Easton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 19 W. West St., Wind Gap, PA 18091.

Mother was my school teacher and I also got to be there not too long ago as a caring aide. Bruce we went to school together may you know she will rest in peace. Well done good and faithful servent your reward awaits you.
