John Ferguson Obituary

John C. Ferguson, 65, of Stroudsburg, Pa. died on Saturday December 21, 2019 in St. Luke's Hospital Bethlehem, Pa. He was the loving husband of Julia G. (Gilruth) Ferguson with whom he had celebrated 37 years of marriage.
John was the son of the late Richard and Mary Jane (Thomas) Ferguson. He was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois but moved with his family to Chatham, New Jersey as a young child. John was a resident of the Stroudsburg area for the past 30 years. John worked as a salesman for the WBW International Company in Flemington, N.J. for the past several years.
In addition to his wife Julia he is survived by 2 daughters: Carrie Parker and her husband Joshua of Easton and Christina Charvet and her husband Michael of South Amboy, N.J. and 2 grandchildren George and Amelia.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday Jan. 4, 2020 at 2:00pm at the Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th.St., Stroudsburg, Pa. with Pastor Margie Good officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until the time of the services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Fergie face to face although we've done business together and talked on the phone countless times and lived only a few miles away from each other. My heart is saddened by his moving on but my soul rejoyous knowing that he is making a good deal in heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Once again he has taken the lead to go and prepare a place for the bible says, " I go to prepare a place for you for in my father house there many mansions". Take your rest my friend Fergie for Job well done we love you but God loves you best.

This world has lost an incredible man with the passing of John Ferguson lovingly know as just Fergie to many of his friends. I had the distinct pleasure of spending almost everyday with Fergie as a fellow Phi Psi for four years at Ashland University. Fred Zurn Freddy Z ( also deceased), Fergie and myself Bob Baird Kojack we're inseparable. Fergie, unquestionably was the glue for our friendship and was always the life of the party. Fergie seemed to have a perpetual smile and spontaneous recognizable laugh that was contagious! Fergie was the most confident person I have ever met and he never backed down from a challenge especially in sports which he almost always won. However, Fergie was just slightly gullible which occasionally got him in trouble. One of the best memories was Fred and I convinced Fergie to forgo studying for a Corporate Finance exam and party heavily instead. We had convinced Fergie if he placed the Corporate Finance book under his pillow when he went to bed via osmosis he would miraculously know it all. Unfortunately the only think he got right on the exam was his name. The good news is life goes on and fortunately we stayed in touch. There was never a question on Fergie's career path he was a naturally born sales person and it served him well as the candy man! The great news is Fergie found Jules and the best chapter of his life began. Family was everything to Fergie and my deepest condolences and prayers go out to the entire family.

I will never forget Ferg's kindness toward Scotty Balas. He drove Scotty and me to a Rangers MLB game back in 2004. Ferg kinda sped fast to make sure Scotty would not miss the National Anthem and first pitch. We made it and Ferg was constantly helping Scotty feel comfortable.
He and I followed the same career: consumer products selling. He gave 100% and built a solid career. I always recall his smile and positive attitude. His energy was contagious. Where he went people folliwed and were better for doing so. You will be missed, pirate. RIP , Hondo
