Lucy Vera Vocks

Lucy Vera (Silfee) Vocks, 56, of Pawnee, Ill., formerly of Franklin, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, Ill. She was the wife of Gary Vocks.

Born Aug. 24, 1953, at St. Peter's Hospital in New Brunswick, N.J., she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Stalmer) Silfee of East Stroudsburg and the late Howard Silfee.

She was a graduate of Stroudsburg High School, Class of 1971. She was employed as the chief coordinator at VNA Home Care in Venango County and, prior to that, worked as the private duty program coordinator in Franklin and home care coordinator.

Lucy enjoyed painting, crocheting, writing, and making jewelry and crafts which she sold on Ebay as far away as France. She also sold her homemade items in craft stores.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two sons, Michael Moses and his daughter Chelsee, of Arizona; Anthony Moses and his wife, Megan, of Scranton; three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Grace and Jack Moses of Scranton; four brothers, Russell Silfee, Arthur Silfee, Bryan Silfee and Howard Silfee II; three sisters, Christina McFadden, Rebecca Contino and Susan Silfee; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father, Howard Silfee, and by her maternal and paternal grandparents.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at Mount Zion Evangelical Church, Stroudsburg. Cremation took place in Pawnee, Ill.
