Nelson Whittaker Obituary
Born in Stroudsburg on Oct. 18, 1922, a son to the late John and Mabel (Arnst) Whittaker.
Nelson worked for 55 years at Unity House Resort, Bushkill, as a foreman before retiring.
He was a member of Bushkill Dutch Reformed Church in Bushkill and also the American Legion of Bushkill. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Nelson is survived by a daughter, Carol Bensley, in Bushkill; a son, Nelson Jr., in Bushkill; a brother, Jack Whittaker; a sister, Dorothy Schrader; grandchildren Nicole Whittaker, Michele Custain, Frank Whittaker, Donna Clark and Kenneth Rohner; and great-grandchildren Elizabeth, J.R., Emily and Kimberlee.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 12, in the Lanterman & Allen Funeral Home, 27 Washington St., East Stroudsburg, at 11 a.m. Calling hour will begin at 10 a.m. until the time of the services in the funeral home. Interment will be in Sand Hill Cemetery, Shoemakers.

I worked at Unity House with Nelson for 10 years and he would always have a big bright smile and a joke to tell. When I had my car accident, he pulled me out of my burning vehicle and brought me to his home until the ambulance came. So sorry to hear that he has passed. May the warm, loving memories that you have of Nelson bring you peace and comfort during this time.
