Born in Tokyo, Japan, he was the son of Asako (Iheda) Heaney of Brooklyn, N.Y. and the late Walter Heaney.
Patrick was a resident of Pocono Farms for the past eight years, previously living in the Brooklyn, N.Y. area.
A retired carpenter, he worked for the New York City Housing Authority for 14 years. He was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church in Tobyhanna.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Patrick M. Heaney IV of East Hampton, N.Y., Sean F. Heaney of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Michael T. Heaney of Tobyhanna; one daughter, Siobhan M. Heaney of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and three brothers, William J. Heaney and Thomas B. Heaney, both of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Walter E. Heaney Sr. of Staten Island, N.Y.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, at Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home, 35 Sterling Road and Route 196, Mount Pocono. The Rev. Father Will Thomas Comellas will officiate. Burial will be in Pinelawn Cemetery, Farmingdale, L.I., N.Y.
Visitation will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
