Peter McNamara Obituary

Peter McNamara, 49, of Kunkletown, and formerly of North Bergen, N.J., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 8, in Jim Thorpe.

Born in Jersey City, N.J. on Jan. 28, 1957, he was the son of Harold McNamara of Unadilla, N.Y. and the late Elizabeth Wilson McNamara.

He worked for Split Rock Vacation Charter in Lake Harmony as a boiler operator/maintenance for the past year.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of the Handyman Club in Minnesota.

In addition to his father, Harold, he is survived by a daughter, Allison McNamara of Runne Meade, N.J.; a son, Peter McNamara of North Arlington, N.J.; two sisters, Jamie McNamara-Kirk and her husband, Brian of Unadilla, N.Y. and Leslie Benzaleski and her husband, Patrick of North Arlington, N.J.; two nephews, David and Steven Benzaleski; his fiance, Laurie Lucci of Kunkletown; and two step-children, Michael and Melissa Stine of Kunkletown.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home Inc., Route 209, Gilbert, Pa. 18331. Funeral services will begin at 8 p.m., at the funeral home with the Rev. Father William J. McCawley officiating. Cremation will take place at H.G. Smith Crematory in Stroudsburg. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation of N.E. Penna., 216 N. River St., Wilkes-Barre, Pa. 18702.
