Roslyn Jeanette Miglio, 93, of East Stroudsburg passed away of natural causes Sunday afternoon, July 4, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono in East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of Claude "John" Miglio who passed away July 13, 2006.
Born on December 10, 1927 in Astoria, NY, Roslyn was a daughter of the late Edward and Irene (nee Adler) Mendel and she had lived in Monroe County since 1990. In earlier years, while living in New York City, she was an executive at Gimbels and subsequently at Century 21.
Roslyn had volunteered with the American Cancer Society support group and was active for many years at the Pocono Family YMCA in Stroudsburg where she swam regularly and participated in weekly exercise classes.
She is survived by her daughter, Karin Greene of Sag Harbor, NY; her grandson, Aaron Karstadt and his fiancee Elizabeth Hoens of Aberdeen, NJ; son-in-law, Murray Karstadt of Orange, NJ, a number of nieces and nephews, and several grandnieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her elder daughter, Ellen Karstadt in 1999 as well as by her three siblings, Simon Mendel, Theodore Mendel and Joan Portnoy.
Roslyn was known for her generosity, her strong opinions, her beautiful spirit and her positive attitude. She loved to laugh, had travelled extensively with her husband John and was a special and treasured friend to many.
The funeral service will begin at 11:00AM on Wednesday, July 7, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Burial will follow at Stroudsburg Cemetery. As per Jewish tradition, there will be no viewing.
In lieu of flowers, it was Roslyn's request that memorial remembrances be made to the American Cancer Society or the Pocono Family YMCA.
