Sylvia J. Coslar, 78, of Cherry Valley, died Wednesday morning, January 20, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital - Monroe Campus in Bartonsville.
She was the wife of the late Edward Coslar, Jr. with whom she shared 59 years of marriage at the time of his death, the day before her on January 19th.
Born on April 6, 1942 in East Stroudsburg, she was the only child of the late John and Betty (Gower) Borger and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.
In her earlier years, she worked at the lunch counter at J.J. Newberry Store in Stroudsburg and she and her husband also owned and operated the family business, Coslar Sanitation for many years.
She enjoyed making ceramics, was an avid bowler, and loved spending time with family and friends in Daytona Beach, FL.
Surviving are a son, Craig Coslar and wife Shelly of Cherry Valley; and two grandchildren, Paige Coslar and Austin Coslar.
A graveside service for she and her husband will be held on Saturday, January 30, at 11:00AM at Keller's Cherry Valley Cemetery. There will be no viewing.

I am at a loss for words and so deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Sylvia and Ed Coslar...Sylvia and I shared a 70 year friendship and it was my honor to have been a bridesmaid in her and Ed’s wedding many years ago. I will always cherish the many wonderful memories we made. My deepest condolences to the Coslar family...Love and God Bless.
