David Edgar Obituary

David Edgar April 26, 1954 - August 27, 2019 Rancho Bernardo It is with great sadness that the family of David Wynn Edgar, 65, of San Diego, California, announces his passing after his courageous battle with cancer. David was born in Illinois and lived in several different places as a child before arriving in the San Diego area, where he made homes in Poway, Ramona, and then Rancho Bernardo. He graduated from Poway High School in 1973 and went on to be a dedicated employee of Boise Cascade and then Superior Ready Mix. He was also a regular presence in the estate sale industry, working with his mom for Miss Kitty's Estate Sales and then starting RB Estate Services with his wife, Lorraine. While he was one of the hardest working people you could find, he also enjoyed his time building and flying radio-controlled airplanes and trips to see family. In all that he did, David made many friends along the way with his friendly and outgoing personality and willingness to help anyone that needed it. David was someone that truly never met a stranger. He was always humble, and someone that continuously thought of others. David touched the lives of countless people and will forever be remembered for the amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and person that he was. He truly was a textbook example of what it means to be a good person, and the way he lived his life will continue to be a model and inspiration for his family. David was extremely proud of his family, and nothing gave him greater joy than spending time with them. He is survived by the love of his life and wife, Lorraine; his children, Ryan (Suzanne), Chris, Alyssa (Bill), James (Emmy) and Jennifer (Luke); his siblings, Diana Augustine (John), Jim Edgar (Linda), and John Gibbs (Dawn); 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog Polly. He was preceded in death by his father, John Gibbs and mother, Katherine "Kitty" Gibbs Silvera. A private celebration of David's life will be held with family and friends on Saturday, September 14, at the home of Dr. and Mrs. John Augustine. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in David's memory may be made to St. Jude's. "One person can make a difference, and everyone should try." Dave and I were close friends during our PHS days. We lived about a quarter mile apart on Espola Rd and spent time riding our horses and playing ping pong! We both had a plug of "chew" in our mouths when ever possible. Dave had a huge smile and was always fun to be with. I miss Dave and those casual times spent with friends in a pleasant town n "the country."

David and I were good friends at Poway HS. We lived a short way from each other on Espola RD. We shared a live for horses and also spent many happy hours playing ping pong. We lost touch so I´m really sorry to hear of his passing. He was a happy person and I have fond memories to hold on to. RIP Brother

What a lovely life tribute you prepared. It perfectly described the David we knew through the years at your estate sales. His warm kindness and strength will be remembered in the community. With our love to Lorraine and all the family, Eileen & To

So sad to hear of Dave leaving us so soon, much too early.
He offered to help everyone at the sales and nothing was too much or too hard for to do. One strong, kind gentle, man.

Oh,my,Dave, we miss him so much already.
He was always so kind and helpful to me and others who live on Reata Court. After my husband died he showed up at my door almost every week asking if there was anything that he or Lorraine could do for me. Loved waving to him and his dog as I drove off
of our street...such a positive person who made everyone smile. Will miss that.
My Love and Prayers go out to Lorraine and all of their family. God Bless!!

We were always happy to see David at your estate sales. He was extremely helpful, friendly and fun! We still proudly display the "Chuppacabra" paper mâché creature Dave just felt belonged to us - and gave to us - and it still flies on our gazebo as a reminder of Dave. I occasionally talked to his mother, Miss Kitty, at both of your sales. She sincerely told me that she was very, very proud of David. That he was truly an exceptional human being, and she was so happy to be his mother. We have all lost a special man and we grieve with you. We are all lucky to have known David.
Our sincere deepest sympathy.

David's obituary is so very descriptive of him.
A truly caring, concerned, person.
I had the pleasure of knowing him, first helping
his mother with her estate sales and then with
his loving wife Lorraine.
Rest in peace David you were truly an asset to
our community.
