Sue Hooten Obituary

Sue Carole Hooten Poway
Sue Carole Hooten passed away December 21, 2023 in Poway, CA as a result of complications due to an RSV infection.
Sue was born December 14,1936 in Greensburg, Indiana to Robert and Gladys Springmier. As a young child, Sue lost her right eye from a hemorrhage. Sue later went on to graduate from Hanover College. Sue met her deceased husband, John Hooten, at work (not sure which one). Both were early computer pioneers, with Sue programming a huge early computer with punch cards at an insurance Company. She soon was a mom of three, but still managed to be a volunteer coordinator in schools, and also worked for years in school libraries. She loved watching TV, especially local sports, The Hallmark Channel, and Days of Our Lives. Many will miss her spunky attitude and sense of humor. She was an unstoppable force when she wanted to be, and really got things done.
Inurnment will take place at Miramar National Cemetery on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 2:00pm; MUST ARRIVE AT 1:30pm.
Poway-Bernardo Mortuary is handling arrangements.
