Henry Lee Mayfield

1955 - 2016

OKOLONA - Henry Lee Mayfield, 60, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 24, 2016, one day short of his 61st birthday. He left this life at North Mississippi Medical Center after courageously battling cancer.
Henry Lee was born on January 25, 1955, to the late Herbert Hoover Mayfield Sr. and Inez Atkinson Mayfield in Okolona, Mississippi. He professed hope in Christ at a young age at Mt. Zion M.B. Church, Troy, Mississippi. He married Jacqueline Johnson on October 5, 1979. To this union two children were born.
Henry Lee was educated in Okolona, Mississippi and was a member of the Okolona High School Class of 1973. He became a furniture builder and long-haul truck driver. He worked, primarily with his brothers in the business of building, selling and delivering furniture all over the United States. He was known for his unique skills that enabled him to be a smooth salesman.
Henry Lee leaves to cherish his memories Inez Mayfield (mother); Contessa Marie Mayfield (daughter); and Kimberly Rena Mayfield (daughter).
His memory is also cherished by his grandchildren: Caleb Anthony Tyler Guido (grandson); and Caylin Deanna Darden (granddaughter).
Also left to cherish his memory are his five siblings: Herbert Hoover Mayfield Jr., Kenneth Darryl Mayfield Sr. (Eloise), Marilyn Mayfield Cummings, Larry Mayfield and David Charles Mayfield Sr.
He also leaves his uncle and two aunts: Henry ""Dudley"" Mayfield, Alice Mayfield and Vernell Mayfield.
He also leaves a host of nephews and nieces: Napoleon Boyd, LaCassia Kubissa Mayfield, Kenneth Darryl Mayfield, II, Dominique Karol Mayfield, Charles Cedrick Bogan, Deidre Cummings Clinton (Eugene), LaTonya Mayfield Lawrence, Justin Mayfield, Whitney Mayfield McKay, David Charles Mayfield Jr. and Tyess Baker.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Hoover Mayfield Sr.; his paternal grandparents: Henry and Ella Mayfield and his maternal grandparents, Qudell and Callie Atkinson.
Visitation will be today, January 29, 2016, at Williams Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 3-6 p.m.. Services will be Saturday at noon at Mt. Zion M.B. Church with the Rev. Odell Bowens officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
