Leona Nix Obituary

Leona Ruth Nix, 94, died Monday, May 30, 2016 at Union County Health and Rehab in New Albany. She was born January 31, 1922 to Lottie Hill and James Robert Jones. She was a homemaker and the last charter member of Grace Point Church of God.

Funeral services will be 1:00p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Grace Point Church of God with Bishop James Wells and Bishop Willie Raines officiating. Burial will be at Old Glenfield Cemetery. United Funeral Service of New Albany is in charge of the arrangements.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Raines Mason and Vickie Nix Jamison; two sons, Charles Raines (Sarah) and Jimmy Nix; one sister, Bobbie Jean Thompson; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie "Red" Raines; her second husband, James Orval Nix; three sisters; one grandchild and two great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Nix's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 10:00a.m. until service time at the church.
