Lisa Bridgman

1958 - 2026

Lisa Dawn Bridgman, 67, of Hoover, Alabama, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2026, surrounded by love, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.



Born in Pontotoc, Mississippi, on November 10, 1958, Lisa was the eighth of nine children born to Lenward and Jeffie Bridgman. She graduated from Pontotoc High School in 1976, where she distinguished herself as an honored and gifted athlete. Lisa earned a full basketball scholarship to Mississippi State University, where she was named Freshman of the Year and was named All-Region and holding the record for most free throws made for a season, an honor she held for many years. She later transferred to Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi, where she excelled academically and athletically, lettering in both basketball and softball. Lisa earned her master's degrees there in physical education and counseling. Lisa's athletic gifts carried into a lifelong career in teaching and coaching.



Lisa greatest joy was being a child of God. She had a devout relationship with the LORD. Everyone who met her and knew her recognized this. She was a servant for the Lord in her church, her community, her profession, her family and in her friendship circle. Her love for the LORD and her faith in Him was evident in everything she touched- including the lives of those around her.



Lisa was preceded in death by her parents, Lenward and Jeffie Bridgman, her siblings, Linda Bridgman Dougherty and Kim Bridgman McCord, and her brother-in-law, Marlin Inmon.



She is survived by: her siblings, Peggy Brown (Charlie), Frances Ahmad (Falih), Billie Inmon, Nancy Coleman (Jerry), Shirley Caldwell (James Lawrence), and Ricky Bridgman (Donna); a host of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews; goddaughter, Kelley Mills; and Special Best Friends, Susan Peppenhorst, Lynn Mills, and Lauren Wooley.



There will be a graveside service on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 11:00 A.M., at Jernigan Cemetery, followed by a time of reflection and fellowship immediately following the service at Fairview Methodist Church for family and friends.
