Barbara Wojtkiewicz Obituary

Barbara Wojtkiewicz, 80, of North Port, passed away on Tuesday, November 21 at 80 years of age from a sudden illness.

Barbara lived an extraordinary life full of family, music, faith, travel, friendships, athletics, and service. She was born on February 28, 1943. She graduated from the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut College.

In 1965 Barbara married George Wojtkiewicz and raised a family. In 1985 she graduated from Boston University with a major in psycho-therapy. She practiced for 20 years as a therapist and was President of the Massachusetts Mental Health Counselor's Association.

Barbara was a devout Christian. Most recently she served as the choir director of St. James Episcopal Church of Port Charlotte for ten years. Barbara performed in choirs as a lead Soprano. She taught piano for many years. Barbara also traveled extensively abroad. Barbara was an avid tennis player and later a golfer.

With her husband of 58 years, George, Barbara is survived by her daughter, Victoria Spindler of Arlington, Virginia, her son, John Wojtkiewicz of Los Angeles, California, and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Endowment Fund, St. Nathaniels Episcopal Church, North Port.
