Josh Abrams Obituary
JOSH ABRAMS
LUCASVILLE - Joshua Merritt Abrams, 35, of Lucasville, died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, in Lucasville as a result of an automobile accident. He was born, Sept. 19, 1978, in Portsmouth, a son of Gary Louis and Laquita Jean Merritt Abrams.
Josh was a paramedic, an adjunct member of the faculty at Shawnee State University, and Assistant Junior High Basketball Coach at Valley Middle School. A 1996 graduate of Valley High School, he was an avid fan of the Valley Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Joshua Dylan Abrams of Minford and Brennan David Overby of West Portsmouth; one brother, Randy (Suzie) Abrams of Franklin Furnace; niece, Avala Abrams; nephew, Kellen Abrams; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at noon Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Scioto Baptist Church with Loren Kuhn and Dan Widdig officiating. Burial will follow in Lucasville Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville, and for an hour before the funeral Friday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to Timothy Johnson Account at 5/3 Fifth Third Bank for the benefit of Josh's two sons.

How it saddened my heart to hear of your loss. I can only imagine your heartache.
Gary and I attended 8th grade and high school together and he probably does not even remember me but another friend, Judy Craycraft Carter, told me of your loss and it deeply saddened me. Gary was always one of the kindest and best mannered boy in our class and I am sure you raised Josh to be the same. My prayers are with you, his wife and children. May the Lord comfort you in ways only He can do.

I didn't know Josh personally, but he was my son's coach. He talked of him all the time about how Josh was helping him learn more about ball. He will be missed by a lot of boys. Rest in Peace Josh. Prayers for his family and friends...

Josh the last time we spoke, you gave me a big hug and promised you were going to be alright. That's a promise I wish you could have kept. Josh was one of the best freinds I have ever had. We had so many long talks on our trips back and forth to Columbus and Cincinatti. We had many long talks at my house. He was my rock at a point in my life when I was ready to give up on something I love so much. He loved his kids and family more than anything. He was so caring. I will miss him.
