MCDERMOTT-Michael August Lilly, 69, of McDermott, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Kings Daughter's Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. He was born June 20, 1952 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late William Albert Lilly Jr. and Rosemary Redoutey Lilly. He is survived by a son, Tyler Lilly and wife Macie of Sciotoville, Ohio; siblings, Susan Lilly, Anne Lilly, Lois Jane (Steve) Zeune, Mary Lilly, Melinda (Roger) Jones, William A Lilly III and Priscilla (David) Ralstin; grandchildren, Ava, Adyson, Tyson and Seth Lilly, Zack Williams and Chloe Crawford; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Zane Williams and a nephew, Justin Seth Ralstin.
Michael graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1970 and retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad with 34 years of service. He coached fast pitch softball winning the Ohio State Championship in 1990. He had many nicknames over the years such as coach, Lils, Lilly Pad and most recently was known as Pad the Peddler selling vegetables, fruit and flowers. He was a "chef" and was always requested to make his famous broccoli salad. Michael was an avid Cincinnati Reds and Cincinnati Bengals fan. He took in strays of all kinds. He carried on the tradition of Friday night poker games with the siblings after his mother passed away.
The family would like to thank his friends, extended family, the Amish community, Hallmark Healthcare and his affectionate caregivers for all the love and care they showed to him.
Due to covid restrictions there will be a celebration of life at a later date. No services are scheduled at this time.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Justin Seth Ralstin Memorial Scholarship Fund: 800 Mohawk Dr. McDermott, Ohio 45652.

Michael was the "little engine that could", he never gave up!
