Barbara A. Bennell

Bennell, Barbara Ann Age 78 of Hobart, passed away on January 6, 2013. She was a graduate of East Gary High School, Class of 1952. She previously owned Barbara's Beauty Shop in Lake Station, was a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker in Valparaiso and a member of Bible Baptist Church in Portage. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ann Prott and brother, John C. Prott. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, James Bennell; 4 step-children, Lana (John) Peters of Minneapolis, James E. Bennell, Jr. of Lake Station, Larry (Darlene) Bennell of Cincinnati and Patricia (Arnold)) Koski of Portage; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Hanauska of Rogers, MN, Michael (Kathryn) Peters of Minnetonka, MN, David Peters of Minneapolis, MN, Laura (Jeff) Dentz of Sartell, MN, Christopher Koski of Chesterton, Vanessa (Derrick) Wolford of Chesterton and Brayden and Brogan Bennell of Cincinnati; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Jenna, Ashley and Zachary Hanauska, Brenna and Ethan Dentz, Andrew and Abigail Koski, and Arianna Wolford; sister, Karen (James) Clugston of Laotto, IN; half sister, Betty Elkins of Hobart; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 12 noon at Bible Baptist Church, 6659 U. S. Hwy 6, Portage, IN, Rev. Donald Good officiating.
