DANIEL VICTOR KALETTA Portage, Indiana 1979 - Forever in Our Hearts Daniel Victor Kaletta, age 28, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008. Danny was a 1998 graduate of Portage High School. He was a generous, compassionate and big-hearted person, who always worried about others and tried to help in any way he could. He was very passionate about the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. He had a sharp wit and a keen sense of humor. Danny had a long uphill battle with health issues. He fought a good fight. He will always be remembered and loved by all who knew him. Danny attended church at The Pentecostals of Southlake in Merrillville, Indiana. He was a constant companion to his Grandma Cooper who will miss him more than words can say. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Robin and Ralph Estes of Portage; father and step-mother, Victor and Valerie Kaletta of Michigan City; maternal grandmother, Sarah Cooper of Portage; paternal grandparents, Harry and Janet Kaletta of Portage; brothers, Greg (fiance Meghan Johnston) Kaletta of Portage, Edward Estes of Valparaiso; sisters, Lindsay Estes of Portage, Jessica and Dawn Kaletta of Michigan City; niece, Abigail Kaletta of Portage; aunts and uncles, Gloria and John Chirila of Portage, Brenda and Bill Storey of Valparaiso, Frances and Ron Winiarczyk of Florida, Blanche and Roy Hughes of Kouts, Glenn and Suzanne Kaletta of Texas; cousins, Melissa (Brian) Gilliam, Karissa (Duane) Sweeney, Jason and Brooke Chirila, Joseph, Jonathan (Jessica) and Jeremy (Alison) Storey, Holly (Jason) Duffy, and Blanche and Glenn's children, Kristi (TJ), Adam, Meagan, Matthew and Danielle. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Edward Cooper and uncle, Conway Cooper, as well as his beloved dog, Jake. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 12, 2008, 11:00 a.m. at The Pentecostals of Southlake, 1640 West 93rd Avenue, Merrillville, with Rev. Robert Stroup officiating. Burial will follow at McCool Cemetery, Portage. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 3-8 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage.
