On August 26th 2008, a very special part of me was removed from my being. I miss Darryl so much. Sometimes the Lord places someone into your life in which whom He never expects you to ever forget. I do believe that Darryl Walker will forever be that someone for me. For twenty seven years, ins and outs, ups and downs, tos and fros, Darryl and I were friends, and we loved each other. With whatever discription we gave it,girl friend and boy friend, buddies or pals, lovers non the less. We were there for each other on any occasion. A year has passed but seems to be only one day. A friend often leaves great impression.. and that is what he was and forever will be to me. I will forever thank him for being a very special part of me.

To the Walker family,

What can I say about my buddy Darryl. He was a lifelong friend, from playing in his yard as little boys from Banneker to talking about pretty girls while we were at Tolleston Middle School. Darryl moved to Roosevelt during High school and I went to Horace Mann, but we were still right down the street from each other everyday. Renita and I went to California with the middle school also(Tolleston). Darryl is in good hands now along with our loving friend Rodney Jones. Those two will laugh for a long time up there, just as they did three houses away from each other in the past. Dwayne God Bless you, I just hate that I didn't get your number while I was back home in Gary, but you'll have it now so do call me (407-375-2224).

Love you guys for life,

Our Condolences to the Family of Darryl Walker,

We offer our heartfelt sympathy of the passing of your loved one. My husband ( Rick Thomas) was a long time child hood friend and classmate of Darryl and we were so shocked and saddened to read just yesterday of the passing of our dear beloved friend Darryl. I met Darryl in our senior year at 'Velt and he showed himself to be such a truly awesome friend and once he found out that I had married his long time friend things just got that much better.
It is our prayer that God bless and comfort you and your family during this time.

Fields!" Man, I'll always remember how Darryl called my name, shouting down the halls. I remember those Winter days at Roosevelt, "Fat Cat" behind the wheel, dippn' around Gary w/ a car full, when we should have been in school. We were trying to have ALL the fun in '82, and Darryl was a big part of that for me. Anytime I was around Darryl, I was laughing and having fun. Darryl was all fun, and I'll miss my friend and what he represented in my life.

God Bless Renita and the entire Walker Family. Remain Strong and Faithful in the Lord!

Darryl and I were in the same navy boot camp. I still remember seeing him at Great Lakes for the first time and the relief I felt seeing somebody from my high school graduating class. He had my back, I had his. We took a lot of train rides from Great Lakes to Gary and back in those days. My prayers are with the family for the Peace that surpasses all understanding.

No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My deepest condolences are with you as you grieve.

I was very sad to hear of his passing. I remember being a freshman at Roosevelt and Darryl was a senior and we did not know if he was security or a student. He had such a confidence about him.

May you feel the peace and love of our Savior during this transition.
