Donna J. Sampson

1943 - 2016

Donna J. Sampson age 72, of DeMotte, IN passed away Wednesday March 30, 2016 at VNA Hospice, Valparaiso, IN. She was born September 15, 1943 in Rensselaer, IN to Edward and Sadie (Peterson) DeVries, both deceased. Donna was a 1961 graduate of DeMotte High School. On October 25, 1963 she married James "Jim" Sampson, who survives. She was a bookkeeper and had worked at DeMotte State Bank, KV School Corporation, Drees and Associates and Walstra Trucking, retiring in 2010. Donna was a member of the American Reformed Church where she was involved in Hope Circle and Ladies Guild. She played the piano at the church and enjoyed traveling, especially cruises and attending her grandchildren's sports events. She will be missed by many who loved her. Donna is survived by her loving husband, James Sampson, DeMotte, IN; Children; Diane Sampson, Chicago, IL; Mike (Katie) Sampson, DeMotte, IN and Jeff; (Michele) Sampson, Fair Oaks, IN; 2 grandsons, Will and Brady; Brothers and sisters; Karen (Ray) Eck, DeMotte, IN; Jim (Jan) DeVries, Kendall Park, NJ; Janet Schoon, Lake Village, IN and Bill (Bev) DeVries, DeMotte, IN; Preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers in law, Wes Schoon and Harry Hoffman. Friends may call on Sunday April 3, 2016 from 2-8 PM at Jackson Funeral Service, of DeMotte. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM with visitation from 9:30 AM until time of service on Monday April 4, 2016 at the American Reformed Church, DeMotte, IN with Pastor Dan Jelsma and Rev. Steven DeVries officiating. Burial will be in Holland Cemetery. Memorials may be given to VNA Hospice, Valparaiso, IN.
