Emmett Liddell Obituary
After graduating from Gary Roosevelt High School in 1960, Emmett was drafted into the Armed Forces, and served a two-year tour of military duty in Germany. He returned home and later resided in Chicago, IL, where he met and married the love of his life, Evangelist Gloria Lewis.
To this union, two sons were born: Jeffrey Liddell and Theodore-Teddy (Relesha) Liddell.
He worked for Continental Can Company, the Chicago Transit Authority, the U. S. Postal Service, and the Federal Protective Service as Government Police. After 25 years of service with the FPS, he decided to retire.
On Tuesday morning, June 1, 2021, Emmett, Jr. transitioned to his heavenly home in Glory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett, Sr. and Evelene McGee-Liddell, his youngest brother, Michael Lynn Liddell and his fourth sister, Geri Liddell-Harris.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Lewis-Liddell; two sons, Jeffrey Liddell and Theodore (Relisha) Liddell, seven grandchildren, four sisters, five brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The arrangements are as follows:
- Family Hour: Tuesday, June 8, 2021 from 6p-8p, Leaks & Sons Funeral Home, 18400 So. Pulaski, Country Club Hills, IL
- Funeral: Wednesday, June 9, 2021; Viewing: 10a-11a; Service: 11a-12:30p, Faith Temple COGIC, 7158 So. Peoria, Chicago, IL
