Gisela Johnson Obituary

GISELA A. JOHNSON Gary, Indiana Gisela Anna Wohner Johnson, age 74, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2007. She was born to the union of Anton Wohner and Marie Kraus on March 31, 1933, in Czechoslovakia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Marie, and her husband Frank Johnson. She leaves behind her two sons, Frank III and John Patrice; a grandson, Frank IV; a niece, Karen Nelson; a nephew, Keith Brown; and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, family and friends. Gisela lived her childhood in Germany. In 1953 she met her husband, Frank Johnson, while he was working for the U.S. government in Germany. The couple made their home in Chicago, Illinois. They moved to Gary, Indiana, in the late 1950's, and she lived there for the rest of her life. She earned two bachelor's degrees from Indiana University Northwest in 1980 and 1985. As a homemaker, Gisela dedicated her life to her husband and sons. She was a member of St. Hedwig's Church in Gary, Indiana. A visitation for Gisela will be held on Friday, June 1, 2007, at the Guy & Allen Funeral Home, 2959 W. 11th Ave., Gary, from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. Family Hour will be at 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, June 2, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Hedwig Church, 18th & Connecticut St., Gary. Interment Oak Hill Cemetery. Professional services rendered by Guy & Allen Funeral Directors, Inc.
