Irene Carter Franklin was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Franklin; her parents, William (Grace) Carter, Sr.; siblings, Robert Carter, Stanley Carter, William Carter, Jr., Edward Carter, Rozell Carter, Cedric Carter, Willie Grace Jackson, Delphine Boyd, Ma Frances Mitchell, Ilonia Edwards and Vivian Buggs. She leaves behind three children; Dartania Franklin (Ft. Wayne, IN), John Eric Franklin (Ft Wayne, IN) and Keith Franklin (Charlotte, NC); 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, many friends, co-workers and acquaintances over the years who contributed to her living a wonderful life.
Viewing will be at 9:00AM and Memorial Service at 11:00AM on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Smith, Bizzell & Warner Funeral Home 4209 Grant Street Gary, Indiana 46408. Burial will follow at Fern Oaks Cemetery in Griffith, Indiana. www.smithbizzellwarnerfuneralhome.com

I first met Irene at the wedding of my son Tony and her granddaughter Marja. We instantly connected because of her warm friendly spirit. She was truly a loving Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma. She was loved and adored by all! My sincere condolences to all of the family. She will be greatly missed.

Sorry to hear about your Loss of Mrs. Franklin. Sometimes there are no words...Just lots of Caring and Love during this Difficult Time. Lifting You up in Prayer and Trusting God to hold you Close to Memories. May you Find Peace and Comfort.
