John Danko Obituary

JOHN BERNARD DANKO "BERNIE" Chicago, IL / Gary, IN John Bernard "Bernie" Danko, age 78 years, passed away peacefully at his residence in Chicago on Sunday, September 25, 2005. He was the beloved husband of Helen for 56 years; father of Kenneth Danko, Mary (Dane) Seibert, Douglas (Joan) Danko, and Judith Danko and Barbara (Bob) Martin; grandfather of Megan and Jonathan Danko, and Joshua, Nicole and Ashley Martin. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillian Danko; and his brothers, Robert and Paul Danko. He was born in Gary Indiana. He was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School and Northwestern University. He was employed with U.S. Steel for 43 years. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2005 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Patrick's Church in Chesterton, Indiana. Luncheon to follow. Directions are available by calling Heritage Cremations at (800) 936-1414. Johns remains will be buried in Florida. In lieu of flowers, Donations to the American Lung Association would be appreciated. Dear Helen and Family,

We were very saddened to hear the news about John. You have been so kind over the years to my mom & dad. If mom were well I know my parents would plan to be up there for the funeral, and would have loved to see you all! Please let us know when you will be in Florida.
