John Deardorff Obituary

JOHN M. DEARDORFF, JR. "Jack" Valparaiso, IN John M. "Jack" Deardorff Jr., 72, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at Porter Hospital in Valparaiso. He was born September 17, 1935 in Villa Park, Illinois to John Milton and Dorothy I. (Witt) Deardorff, Sr. John is survived by his children Stephen J. Deardorff and Therese M. Sayles, both of Illinois, two sisters June Stenstrom of Florida and Charlotte Deardorff of Wisconsin. His special companion of 13 years, Calista Evans also survives him. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in South Haven and owner of the Deardorff Camera Company. John was a U.S. Army veteran. Funeral services will be at 12 Noon on Monday, November 12th at Emmanuel Baptist Church. Pastor John Allen will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Valparaiso. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the time of services at noon at the church on Monday. Please make memorial contributions to the family with charity to be determined at a later time. Jack will be missed by all that knew him. He was a good friend for many years to me and others it the photographic industry. We shared laughs and sorrow. Thank you Jack for all you and your family have done for photography.

I will miss Jack dearly, an incrediable friend to one and all. Jack was aways there to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed help. He will be very much missed in the photographic industry which he and his family helped to create.
