Dean J. Deardorff

Dean J. Deardorff of York passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday January 20th after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 64.

Dean graduated from York Vo Tech in 1979 and went on to become a maintenance technician for over 40 years in various industries. Dean was currently employed by CBRE at Amazon prior to his illness. Dean was very knowledgeable about his work and was very eager to pass this onto the younger generation just starting their careers.

Dean was born on September 7, 1961. He was the son of the late Harry Deardorff and the late Lois Harvey Stoner.

Dean is survived by his loving companion Cathy Moore, his daughter Angelique Deardorff (Ian), his brother Robert Deardorff and his sister Denise Richard. He is also survived by Cathy's children Ashley Moore (Pat), Tyler Moore (Samantha) and Brady Moore. 5 Grandchildren: Deon and Kashton Detter, Paisley, Leo and Vivian Moore. He was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Boose.

Services will be held at John W. Keffer Funeral Home 2114 W. Market St York Pa on Friday February 6th. Visitation will be 10:00 till 11:00 followed by a service at 11:00 officiated by his uncle, Jay Harvey There will be a celebration of life following at the Viking Athletic Club 318 N Adams St. York Pa

In lieu of flowers, Dean has asked for donations to be made in his memory and in honor of his beloved dog Samson to York County S.P.C.A. 3159 Susquehanna Trail York Pa or to the Tucker Haas Foundation to help and support pediatric cancer survivors.
