Melvin Adams Sr.

Melvin Adams Sr., age 72 transitioned December 14, 2021 surrounded by his family. He was born to Gladys Adams (deceased) and Milton Mable. He attended Roosevelt High School graduating class of 1969. Melvin married his high school sweetheart Rosie Williams in 1969 and to this union was born: Melvina, Melvin Jr. and Kevin Adams. He also raised his beloved daughter Regina Rogers. He was employed by the City of Gary General Services Department in several positions until his retirement. Melvin is preceded in death by wife Rosie; mother Gladys; grandparents who raised him Willie and Velma; siblings Monica, Martell, and Maurice Mable; great grandson Elijah Thompkins, and son-in-law Arthur Washington Jr. He is survived by his wife Phyllis Adams; daughters Melvina Adams Washington, Regina Rogers (Gary Brown), and Brandy Darling; son Melvin Adams Jr, siblings Milton Sr. (Lessie) Mable, Marcus Mable, Marlon Mable, Monuetta (Clyde) Hawkins, Mazella Mable (Andrew Batiste), Myra Magee, Marquetta Mable, Marci Mable, and Michael (Debbie) Mable, 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
